I know some or most all of us don't understand nor can read JP xD but this is more or less PSO2 going on the PS Vita. It's gonna be released in 2013 or so (while the PC version is going to come out sometime in 2012)

I'm NOT going to be okay with this if it holds the game back like consoles did to PSU.

I highly doubt it will. PS2 had limited space for storing updates and whatnot (lol 8mb memory card) and hell just limited PSU as a whole. The PSVita won't have the same problem lolz tbh as long as PSVita is the only console involved then im 100% ok with it. Cus once Xbrick gets involved, its PSU all over again with different servers cus of the licensing bs

A handheld can limit an MMO waaaay more than an ordinary console...

That's pretty cool that PSO2 is on gonna be on the PS Vita. I see no problem with this. It's just an extra console you can use to play with. I think in my opinion, the PS Vita will be powerful enough to handle PSO2 with all its updates etc. Plus, we not sure about all the details about this, as the video was in Japanese, and I don't its a good idea to assume for the worst, when we know nothing about this yet, other than the fact its gonna be on the PS Vita.

lol i doubt it'll be on PS3. even then, would that not defeat the purpose of a hoped for global server? ;x

@Tsu - sure but what if a handheld console is more powerful than most computers? lol just sayin

Vita is nowhere near as powerful as a gaming pc. This is a new game we're talking about, it's not a Dreamcast port anymore, you can't just play it on a toaster. Personally, I HOPE PSO2 remains PC/PS3, and there is some connectivity between PS3 version and Vita (like importing characters/stuff and doing solo missions on the go).

Any platform but PC will limit PC. Thats all there is to it. It's not a matter of "but you can have a 32 gb memory stick" it's a matter of you can't edit game data off a UMDs/DVDs/Blu-rays to effectively patch something.

Exactly my thoughts. PC and maybe PS3 but that's it... Just because Vita's GFX looks nice, it doesn't mean the hardware is 'powerful'. Saying Vita can match PC is like saying you shouldn't go to IMAX anymore but watch movies off your 3DS... Not even MENTIONING the fact that Vita is just out now, and will stay the way it is forever, while PCs and MMOs should develop on the go. For this reason, I am not even so keen on PS3 support, tbh...

Honestly I hignly doubt it will be that bad. Vita's specs are probably better than some PC's out there that are capable of running it. All it will really take is them retuning the graphics to match the power of its graphics card. Honestly the fact that they are being bridged is better considering how the PSP serries got all of the attention once it was released. PSP and PSP2 ultimately became far superior to PSU as far as gameplay was concerned because they made a lot of necessary adjustments to game systems that never even made is to PSU JP.

Wild Phazor appears!

I suppose if I had to pick 2 other platforms for the game, I would pick PS3 and Vita. God help us if they decide to add Wii/360...

Adding a handheld to the palette would mean we can say goodbye to any even-close-to-decent UIs but oh well...

*hurr durrs away before throwing anything offensive at anyone.
