I've heard that there are issues with registering. I've checked the status, and it is not locked. People should be able to register. I have noticed that there are problems with this site. There is a new owner and they have not bothered to log in. The admins for the site themselves are having problems.

It might be worth discussing creating a new forum somewhere else?

I don't suppose there would be any way of saving all of our posts if we moved? Because that would make me reluctant to start over.

I see where you are coming from, Bil, but this forum engine is BARELY alive. It will give out sooner or later. Besides, it's already full of bugs and non-working features. Still easier to leave a sinking ship than a sunken one...

Earlier when this topic came up, I voted against moving. That is no longer the case.

True. I suppose we could still have a link to here for an archive anyway. I wish I could post a pic of my shiny new Yami I got last night. Very Happy

Now that's the spirit! Very Happy

Question is, who's got enough free time and (preferably) web knowledge to make a new site?

I vote for a new modern site... I like Bils idea for an "archivable" link while accessible.

What about ProBoards? It is pretty easy to use and free. I took the liberty and created a site:

Quote:
osguild dot freeforums dot net

Edit: we'll be using mine. - V

Of course if you don't like it, anyone can make another one.

If you do find it sufficient, however, then I can give admin/moderator rights to everyone who had these privileges on these forums. Just sign up and let me know in a PM. (username is Steironas)

I like your initiative, but I think that it would be best if a current admin created the site. I will begin working on it today.

Edit: My shot at it is online.

When I was looking into the issues a while back, it looked like the stem of the problems is that the owner of forumwise sold the page back in summer 2013, and since the new owner has done NOTHING with it, not even announce him/herself. So since them all the admins below the owner who volunteered their time to aiding the communities have quit and the users are now basically on their own.

Probably not. I'll see if I can convert our topics into logically formatted text files.

If were still considering forum options; my guild in WoW currently uses enjin. They have a number of high quality templates and features and all of it is free.
